Some epic things to do while staying at Kaaimans..
Kayak
Use our kayaks to explore the Kaaimans river. Loads of natural flora and fauna to be seen further upriver.
Visit Waterfall
One of the most epic features is the Kaaimans river waterfall. A gentle 15min paddle from the house.
Fishing
Be sure to bring your rod. Kaaimans is famous for its’ fishing scene. Fish to catch: Spotted Grunters, Garrick, Kob, Musselcracker, Bellman, Wit Steenbras, Kolstert, Stumpnose, Harders, Karanteen, Blacktail.
Table tennis
With one hell of a view.

River drift
Take whatever floatation device you can find, and float from the sea back to the house with an incoming spring tide.
Visit the hippy cave
An old rundown Grotto restaurant in a cave transformed into a refuge for tramps.
(25min walk from house)
Gerickes Point
30min drive from Kaaimans, and a 30min coastal walk. Gerickes is an epic little islet with beaches and rockpools. Take shoes! Collect shells.
Kingfisher trail
15min drive from Kaaimans. An epic little little trail through a lush forest that leads to a stunning waterfall (perfect for a swim and picnic).
Swim at the mouth
It’s a Kaaimans tradition to go swim at the river mouth everyday

Kaaimans restaurant
1Paddle down to the local restaurant for good food, drinks, and (seasonal) live music. A 10min paddle from the house.
A walk on the railway
A scenic walk to either Victoria Bay (20min) or Wilderness (30min). Walk at own risk and only in large groups with no valuables (this is Africa).
Victoria Bay
Visit the bay next door (Vic Bay) for a swim, surf, beach, and soft serve ice cream! (15min drive or 45min walk)
Kaaimans restaurant
Have a craft beer and meal and the coolest little village town of Wilderness. Many boutique restaurants.
Have a BRAAI
Kaaimans Deckhouse is arguably one of the best places to have a good old South African styled braai (bbq) with your family & friends.
Sundowners
One of the best parts of staying at Kaaimans Deckhouse is ending of each day with a sundowner on the deck with an EPIC VIEW.
